Eight Steps to Setting and Achieving Goals for 2013

Step 1: Write down your goals. Make them specific and be sure you can measure progress toward the goal. For instance, if you want to increase your productivity at work, your goal may be to increase your sales by 10 percent from this year in 2013. Track your progress to all goals.

Step 2: Write down why you want to achieve the goal. List all the ways you will personally benefit from achieving the goal as well as any losses you will avoid.

 

Step 3: Determine exactly where you are now in reaching that goal. Note the strengths that will help you, the weaknesses that could hurt you, and the opportunities you can use to attain what you want.

 

Step 4: Write down what you will need to invest to achieve your goal. Whether it is time, money, or something else, know what reaching this goal could "cost" you.

 

Step 5: Determine what you need to learn in order to reach the goal. Will you need to take a course to learn a new skill? And what kind of information do you need access to?

Step 6: Identify all the people who can serve as your support group or team.  This may also include organizations that can help you. Remember that asking for help is a sign of strength.

Step 7: Develop an action plan. Set timelines for achieving your short term goals. List specific dates on which you want to complete the various steps of the plan.

 

Step 8: Celebrate! Give yourself a reward for achieving the various steps in your action plan and a final reward for achieving the intended goal, something you can look forward to!

It’s the getting started – the first small step that often  seems insurmountable.  Getting  started  can be tough.   The good news is that when you do get started, things can roll along!  There may be a few bumps in the road on the way to your goal, and that’s why it’s important not to take that personally (be obective as possible), detached from outcome (in the Zen tradition) and stay positive.  

 If you find yourself on the couch, perhaps the first small step is rolling over onto the floor – and if you have a pet getting some love there… smiling, laughing and feeling gratitude about whomever and  whatever is happening well in your life.

 It’s really important to be certain that a goal is something you really want- not just something that sounds good.  Take all aspects of a situation into consideration, this helps to prevent  self-sabotage.  Having a realistic goal with a realistic time frame is important within a bigger picture.  These are the “R” and “T” in SMART  Goals.

Specific  The goal should identify a specific action or event  that will take place.

Measurable  The goal and its benefits should be quantifiable.

Achievable  The goal should be attainable given available resources.

Realistic  The goal should require you to stretch some and point towards success.

Timely  The goal should state the time period in which it will be accomplished

 
Write your goal in positive language.  The more positive instructions you give yourself, the more positive results you get!


 Here are a few more strategies for goal manifestation:

 

  •   Review and re-prioritize your goals frequently.
  •   Throughout the day ask yourself  “does this take me closer or      further from my goals(s)?”
  •  Give yourself permission to change your mind.
  •   Pay attention to your body, feelings, thoughts and intuitive self!

How to make 2012 your best year yet!

In order to make 2012 your best year yet, experts suggest that we schedule a few minutes to ask ourselves and answer a few questions so our year is planned in advance. As you likely know, planning is bringing the future into the present, writing crystallizes thinking and crystallized thought motivates action.

 

1. What am I doing to improve and use more of my potential? 

 

2. What goals have I written to accomplish?

 

3. Are they specific, measureable, attainable, realistic and tangible? (SMART Goals)

 

4. Have I created detailed plans of actions with monthly steps to reach them?

 

5. What obstacles do I face to achieve these goals?

 

6. How am I going to overcome these obstacles and roadblocks?

How to Get a Jumpstart on 2012!

Move into 2012 with good energy and focus... 


Are you stressed about Christmas spending?  Do you feel pressure to spend over your limit?    That will rob you of your energy so you can't focus on the present and get excited about setting your goals for 2012. 



My suggestion is that you enjoy the Christmas holidays but do everything in moderation.  What do I mean?  Set some boundaries around your spending. Buy what you can afford. Give from your heart. 


The best way to plan for 2012 is to look back to your recent past, 2010.  So take a look back at 2010 and ask yourself the question:

One year ago around this time what was I doing? Where was I at?

Next, Where do I see myself in 2012?

Third, How will I achieve that goal?

Here are some other questions to ask yourself in order to flesh out your goals. Where do I want to live? What do I want to be doing to make money? How many hours do I want to work per day/per week? What income do I want to have?

An important key to having what you want is deciding what you want way ahead of time. Then visualize yourself experiencing what you want.

I encourage you to get out a sheet of paper and review where you were last year. In the process of doing this some guilt may come up for things you didn't get done. The key is to forgive yourself for what you didn't accomplish. It's now in the past and there's nothing you can do about it.  Don't hold it against yourself or carry it like a monkey on your back into 2012. It will only set you back.

Write down all the things you didn't get done and at the bottom of the page "I forgive myself." The next step is to tear it into shreds or burn it so you can free yourself from the mistakes and missteps of 2011. You will become lighter moving forward in 2012.

Last, write down what you desire for 2012 and visualize it. Include all the support you'll need to achieve your goals.  If you take the time to work on this during the next two weeks you will find yourself going forward into 2012 with ease and joy. You will have let go of the guilt and heaviness from your unaccomplished goals and you'll experience gratitude for your achievements  in 2011.  This will give you the momentum needed to jump into 2012!

And unlike many of your friends you will not be looking for help with your New Year's resolutions. We know it doesn't work for the vast majority of people so why go down that road again.

As Albert Einstein said: "Insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly expecting a different result."

Get a jumpstart on 2012 by doing a review of 2011. Take a look back at 2010 and answer some questions about where you were, where you want to be and what help you'll need to achieve your goals. You can apply this to any area of your life.

Are EFT Success Stories Really True??

If you've ever heard of EFT Tapping 
you've probably heard some amazing
stories about the results that people
have gotten with it…
And like most people, you've probably
thought to yourself something like 
"will it work for me?" or "are all those EFT
success stories really true?"
After all, you want to know how it can
impact your life.  But when you hear
all those stories about how miraculous
it is you can't help but ask if it's
not working for some people…
And the honest answer is…yes.  Sometimes
people don't get the results they're 
looking for.
But there's a reason and a bigger, more 
important question… 
When somebody hasn't gotten results the
question is WHY didn't they get results,
because EFT works spectacularly well.
From what I've seen it tends to be
because they didn't fully understand how
to tap properly and they weren't completely 
comfortable with knowing what to say and 
what to focus on while they were tapping.  
And that's understandable.  When something's
new to you, you have to get a feel for how
to do it.So here's what I suggest as a solution, 
because I want you to be able to get the
amazing results that people get everyday
with tapping…
To use EFT Tapping effectively I suggest 
you watch an EFT expert doing Tapping with 
somebody and tap along.  You can  do that with me 
on my short video.
 
Additionally,  last week the team behind the documentary 
film "The Tapping Solution" released the video from their
3 day "Tapping Experience" live event.  This is a phenomenal
event that was run by EFT expert Carol Look that was absolutely 
leife changing and can be life changing for you as well.
Tapping works miracles every day and you deserve to have one of
 those miracles yourself.  If you want to really learn how to do EFT
tapping well and get spectacular results in your life check out this page 
And here's something REALLY important to remember…there's
nothing to risk by getting this, watching it and tapping along.
If you watch the DVD's and don't get results
you can return it.  But what you have to gain…is a LOT:
  •  Remove stress, anxiety  an other limiting negative emotion
  • Eliminate physical pain…
  • Remove  limiting beliefs and other blocksto being successful…and so much more.  
Tapping works on so many things…and watching 
these videos and tapping along is such an easy
way to do it for yourself and do it properly.

WHO'S IN CHARGE OF YOUR FUTURE?

 Of course the answer is: YOU are in charge of YOUR future.

What do you want your future to look like?   You can create your future – starting today. 
  Each of us is capable of infinitely greater accomplishments than we allow ourselves to believe. It’s not our situation that determines what our future will be, it’s our reaction to our situation (today, tomorrow, and the next day) that will determine our results and our future.

Two quotes come to mind: “If it’s to be, it’s up to me.” And, “You can when you think you can.” The good news is you can control most of what will happen to you in the future. For example, you can control:

• Most of your free time
• How much energy you exert and toward what
• Your attitude, thoughts, and imagination
• How you look (your demeanor and non-verbal language)
• How you act (what you do)
• What you say (the words you choose)
• How you say things (your tone, inflection, and phrasing)
• Who you choose as role models
• The books you read and the messages you listen to
• Who you spend your leisure time with
• Your commitments – to yourself and others
• Your concerns and worries (or lack thereof)
• Your response to difficult times and difficult people

 

Seven things you can do to take charge of your future:

1. Refuse to make excuses – See it, Own it, Solve it, and Do it
2. Protect your attitude (tune out the negatives you encounter)
3. Make the best possible use of your time (prioritize)
4. Keep in good health through diet, exercise, proper rest and relaxation
5. Read and/or listen to self-improvement material daily
6. Associate with positive, successful people
7. Set high goals and decide that you will accomplish them

 

You can and will take charge of your future 
when you think you can – and when 
you take positive, goal-directed action you will achieve & accomplish
