Stop Self-Sabotage and Manage Emotions Under Pressure

By Eileen Lichtenstein - Peak-Performance-Success Coach

Many   competent people "self-sabotage" themselves every day by overreacting emotionally and hurting their relationships — both at work and at home.  They stay stuck in habits that hurt them, such as procrastination,  disorganization, avoiding conflict ... the list goes on and on.

On the other end of the spectrum,  professionals can respond to adversity with a level head — even if they're ready to "blow a fuse".

Often what they do differently is adapt to workplace changes — even those that are tough to swallow and stick with difficult challenges when solutions don't come easily.  They follow through on plans  in order to turn "good intentions" into reality ... and meet more goals.  They are able to develop the steady self-control it takes to stand up for yourself and deal with conflicts positively and break on-the-job habits that hurt you, like procrastination, disorganization, and others.

You can bring more discipline into your personal and professional life by creating healthier routines and relationships.  Maybe you are stuck - and either don't have "a clue" or have many "clues" and don't know what to do.  Here are a few ways to create a better emotional relationship with yourself-  which will surely transfer to others- just give these a try:)!:

  • Write down three things - people - situations you are grateful for each day
  • Write personal affirmations and place them on your dashboard , on computer and in the bathroom
  • Practice effective communication- be assertive v. reactive
  • Leave the scene, when possible if you find your stress/frustration/anger quotient rising and take a "time-out" to do any of the above! and/or punch the ceiling,
go into the car and scream, do EFT (emotional freedom techniques, tapping)
  • Practice relaxation and/or meditation on a regular basis

  • Exercise often
  • Enjoy nature
  • Have fun! and Smile :)  smile
  • Eat and sleep well

All the best with this- it takes determination, perseverance and internal motivation to succeed at anything.  Trust that these techniques help and practice them~ and then write your own success story!  I'm listening...

Building Strong Relationships

By Eileen Lichtenstein - Peak-Performance-Success Coach
Relationships are really important and basic to how you feel- aren't they?
Building strong relationships at home, with family, friends and at work are key to our well being and stress levels.  Good relationships correlate with happiness and productivity.   High stress and anger levels impact on all relationships and vice versa! Perhaps you have a toxic relationship going and need some coaching to feel empowered to let it go or to change it up. Remember, you must have an intention to change your own patterns; it is impossible to change someone else's.  However, you can be a great role model or mentor.
                                                                   relations...

Relationship coaching is intended to help people in any relationship such as married couples, unmarried couples, family members or  co-workers.   A relationship is always, like our lives, in a state of movement and change. A relationship coach  helps you maximize that change in a positive way, places you more in control of it and of how you feel.  Looking at events and what a person says in a different way, understanding different styles of communication and behavior and creating  new perspectives and reframing some negative situations can help you reconnect with the positive aspects in a  relationship and empower you to let go of the old patterns and perhaps, the relationship.

My journey as a Peak Performance Success Coach (certified in Life and Career Coaching) and a Certified Anger Management Specialist has brought me into the role of helping individuals, couples, families and business teams into moving forward and building strong relationships where perhaps there was only negativity and discord before.

I offer a comlimentary telephone or Skype consult:  www.balanceandpower.com   516 623 4353

Late Bloomer-Boomer?

By Eileen Lichtenstein - Peak-Performance-Success Coach
A gentleman I know from business networking said very definitively (he's an attorney), "I think you are a late bloomer- you are  really good at what you do and so passionate about your work."  I smiled.  I said, "You know me now and yes I'm  a "late bloomer-boomer"  in my current work as  coach-educator in stress/anger management and related topics, and I no longer am actively doing what I was as passionate about before we met- that is "Moving Meditation Fitness(R)" and wellness coaching, including stress reduction.  I invited my attorney friend (who is extremely successful and stressed) to download my recording of rhythmic movement and guided relaxation on my website:

Motivation is a Mind and Heart Two Way Street

By Eileen Lichtenstein - Peak-Performance-Success Coach
A big take away affirmationP1000962.JPG  for me while spending a working vacation in Scottsdale presenting  my SOAR! with Resilience™  program at a Leadershop Conference for Special Educators:  Motivation is a mind and heart two way street:  When we share our passion, knowledge and inspiration and the receiver(s) really hears and feels it, we get that back many times over.   My motivational programs are interactive; above we are giving a "silent scream" shout out- visualization or blank ceiling- as we release frustration or anger.

7 Reasons Why New Business Owners are Blowing You Away

By Dawn Abraham - Award Winning Marketing Expert

Are you wondering why you're you business isn't reaching all those lofty goals you set? Once Upon Time
you had a wish for your business.  You were excited motiviated and above all you believed in your dream.   Are you thinking that wishes are just meant to stay that way, a wish?  That couldn't be further from the truth.  Which one of these wish killers are you guilty of committing?   howtomakeyourwishcometrue.jpg

How to Grow Your Buiness & Stay Away From the Wish & Dream Killer Mistakes

1. You don't believe it.   How many times have you made a wish thinking it is only a wish and wishes don't really come true? Maybe other people get their wish but not me.  That may be the reason your wish is not coming true, you do not believe it will happen.

2.   There is no deadline on the wish.  Always put a deadline on your dream or wish.  This action is the beginning of turning your wish into a reality.  It is a way of keeping you focused and on track.

3.  There is no action plan.  Once you have a wish you want to make a plan of action that has you starting that day.  It's important to start while you are motivated.  Even if you do one small step towards making your wish come true that is a step in the right direction.

4. Your making it more complicated than it has to be.  Most of us grew up with the idea that the harder the better.  Anything easy is not worth going after.  Because of this we make things more difficult then they really are.  The acronym KISS means, keep it simple stupid I replace stupid with smart-one.   You get the idea. Less is more.

5.  Holding on to self- limiting beliefs. You have to have money to make money.  There are hundreds of ways to generate money for a project.  One way is to involve a key influencer in your niche and suggest a joint venture.

6.    Time is a big one. Not giving allowing enough time to complete it.  If you set a deadline because you need to make money by that time you are setting yourself up for failure.  If your wish is about starting a new business you need plenty of time.  If you don't have the income to devote eight hours a day then work part time or flex time to fund your business.  Realize that you need more time since you may only devote ten hours a week to getting your business started.

Make sure you use those ten hours wisely.  If you make them count you can accomplish the important elements that will set in place a strong foundation.  Have a date set where you will be able to focus full time on your business.

7.  Giving up.  This is one sure way to kill a wish.  I see this wish killer the most.   The reason is usually one of the sex steps preceding this was skipped.  The wish is not realized and people give up.  They give up their dream because they think it isn't attainable.  That isn't the case, anything is attainable, and you wouldn't have the dream in the first place if you didn't have the ability to carry all the way to success.

To sum it up, give your wish a deadline write down the top three things you can do every day to make that wish a reality.  Always start with the most important thing that moves you closer to your wish and break it into small easy steps that are attainable  this way you don't resist starting each day.

Partner with someone who has the side of the equation you don't have, like a active list of at least 3,000 people.   If you have something to offer that the other business partner needs that will make a winning venture.  Don't get discouraged if the first couple of tries don't get the results you had hoped for.  You will get there in time however, don't even think about  giving up that is the only way your business dream won't come true.

Ten Keys to Happiness by Deepok Chopra, MD

By Eileen Lichtenstein - Peak-Performance-Success Coach

This is one of my favorite lists by one of this generation's wisemen:
Deepok Chopra.

1.
Listen to your body’s wisdom, which expresses itself through the signals of comfort and discomfort.  When choosing a certain behavior, ask your body, “How do you feel about this?”  If the body sends a signal of physical or emotional distress, watch out!  If the body responds with joy and comfort – go for it!

2.       Live in the moment.  The present is the only moment you have.  Have your attention on what  IS and see its fullness in every moment.  Have psychological acceptance totally and completely that this present moment is as it should be.  How could it be otherwise?  This moment is as is because the universe is as is.  Don’t struggle against the universe.

3.       Take time to be silent, to quiet the internal dialogue, to be guided by your intuition, rather nthan the externally imposed interpretations of what is and what is not good.

4.       Relinquish your need for approval.  There is great freedom in that choice.

5.       When you find yourself reacting with anger or violence to any  person, situation or circumstance- recognize that you struggle only against yourself.  Don’t be so hard on yourself.

6.       Know that those you react to strongly whether you love them or hate them, are reflections of yourself.  Use the mirror of relationship to guide your own spiritual revolution.

7.       Shed the burden of judgement- you will feel much lighter.

8.       Don’t contaminate your body with toxins: food, drink or toxic emotions.

9.       Replace fear-motivated behavior by love-motivated behavior.

10.    Understand that the physical world mirrors the process in our own consciousness.  Cleaning up the environment and getting rid of toxic wastes and dumps that contaminate our earth, its rivers and oceans is worthwhile, but even more important is the flushing out of toxic ideas that contaminate the human mind.

I have studied these principles and apply them in my life.  Being human, I am do not always do this :). I help my clients to live them as well.  I explore many of them in my interactive manual  SOAR! with Resilience™   and tell success stories of my own as well as clients who have gone on to be happy and SOAR!  You may contact me for a complimentary consult: BalanceandPower  516 623 4353P1000818.JPG

Alleviate Your Stress with EFT and Peak Performance Success Coaching

By Eileen Lichtenstein - Peak-Performance-Success Coach

As a normal part of life, stress enables us to get things done. If left unmanaged, stress can lead to emotional, psychological, and even physical problems. Stress causes a disruption in the flow of vital energy through the body. These energetic imbalances can throw off the immune system or cause symptoms of pain, sleep disturbances, abnormal digestion, headaches, menstrual irregularities, aggravation of already troublesome health conditions and, over time, more serious illnesses can develop.

Stress is cumulative.  Stressful situations that last over a long period of time can create an ongoing low-level stress that puts continual pressure on the nervous system, increasing activity, and can cause the overproduction of hormones. The extra stress hormones over an extended period of time may wear out the body's reserves, lead to fatigue, depression, a weakened immune system, and a host of serious physical and psychological ailments.

Some signs of stress overload include:

- anxiety or panic attacks
- feelings of constant pressure, hassled and hurried
- irritability and moodiness
- physical symptoms such as stomach problems, headaches, or even chest pain
- allergic reactions, such as eczema or asthma
- problems sleeping
- overindulgence in food, alcohol, smoking, or drugs
- sadness or depression

alleviateyour stress.jpg

Stress is often the cause of illness and the deterioration of health. Finding a release valve for your stress can help you stay healthy. According to research, stress, frustration, and unresolved anger can play an important part in throwing the immune system off and allowing pathogens to affect the body.

Research has shown that EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), meditation and relaxation techniques can reduce stress levels. My private sessions and workshops/trainings integrate these modalities with Peak Performance Success Coaching for your life and career: www.balanceandpower.com

While it isn't always possible to remove the external forces causing stress, the ability to effectively deal with stress is a choice. Take time for yourself to cultivate the energy you need to handle your stress more skillfully and effectively.

If you or someone you know is experiencing stress or a stress related disorder, contact me for more information about how the modalities mentioned in the previous paragraph can help you regain peace of mind and stay healthy.  Schedule an appointment today!  516 623 4353   balanceandpower
