Taylor Swift, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore & us!

By Luann Lee - TV host, entertainment reporter, motivational speaker, author

This past week has been absolutely unbelievable.  It’s definately been one of those rock star moments, a life that I never thought I’d be living.  Last week my daughter, a friend, and I received a gift of tickets to see Taylor Swift at The Staples Center, a sold out show.  In the excitement I never bothered to look at the tickets to see where we were supposed to be sitting. Just to be going at all was exciting enough!

When we got inside, the security personnel standing at the top of each aisle, asked us if we needed help finding our seats.  They kept directing us to go down the stairs, towards the floor. Farther and farther down we went. Passing celebrities as we approached the final security attendant, which looked like a CIA agent.  No longer were there just Staples Center employees, these “body guards” were the real deal, designed to protect their valuable commodity, Taylor Swift. We were now being escorted to the actual floor of the arena.  An area reserved for die-hard fans with deep pockets.  Floor seats are expensive and hard to get, to say the least.

When we finally arrived on the floor, the CIA looking security personnel escorted us to a section of seats directly in front of the stage, dead center.  We had been given 6th row seats, right in front of where Taylor Swift was going to perform.

As the two opening acts came and went, I noticed that two seats in front of us had been vacant this entire time.  Those two seats were in the second row, directly underneath where Taylor was singing.  You could see every single one of her facial movements and the veins in her throat pulsating every time she belted out another show stopping hit.

I took a chance and scooted up to the second row and asked the people sitting next to these empty seats, if any one had ever showed up.  Their reply, “nope” was my golden ticket!!

I quickly went back and told my daughter and her friend to hustle their way up to the second row and behave, so as not to get kicked out.  I stayed back in the 6th row and enjoyed watching the girls who were in turn watching Taylor.  My daughter is only 13 and her friend only 11.  It was a great way for them to “pretend” to be at a concert all by themselves, and yet I was there hovering over to protect them and their newly discovered independence.

To make the rock star moment complete, Emma Stone, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Gene Simmons (KISS) and his actress/model fiance of 28 years, Shannon Tweed; were all there.  Taylor went up to each and every one of them and gave them a hug.

Since I’m friends with Shannon, I immediately texted her to tell her how amazing she looked and she texted back saying how much fun they were having.

It was a blast and I’m ruined for any other seat in the house for all future concerts!  It’s the first few rows or I’ll wait to catch the concert as a re-run on HBO.  Although, I have to say, there’s nothing like the energy, hysteria, celebrity appearances, and showmanship of seeing a talented artist perform live!  In fact, I believe this so much that we went back again on Saturday night and saw her again!!  I can’t wait till Keith Urban comes to town in Oct!
