Is Your Glass Half-Full of Happiness?

If your glass is half full of happiness, you have the golden opportunity to fill it up the rest of the way. You miss out on so much of the beauty life has to offer if you look at life as though the glass is half half-empty. Unconsciously when you look at the glass as half empty, you are telling yourself that there is nothing you can to do fill up your glass to overflowing. Nothing could be further from the truth. You are in control. Choose to be Happy. Focusing on the negative side of life leads to a life of stinking thinking that never sees the good things that life has to offer.

It's a fact that looking at a half empty glass is no road to happiness. Try this turn around strategy to get yourself from stinging thinking to choosing to be happy.

Grab a piece of paper; draw a line down the center. Now, take a moment and write down all the things that are off track with your life. Then, on the other side of paper, write down all of the blessings you have in your life. For a negative person, this can be hard. Start with the simple things like waking up in a warm bed this morning. It's all too easy to let the blessings in our life get swamped by a focus on negativity. Here are some more examples. Was your bed warm? Was there someone on the other side of the bed? Did you have breakfast? Do you have a job? A car? Did you have clean, decent clothes to put on?

Each and every one of these examples is a positive part of life. It can be so easy to think about the negative things: I don’t get paid enough, my car is old, and the cereal wasn’t fresh, etc., etc. Truth is half the world would love to have the things we overlook because we are focused on what we think is missing in our lives!

Thing is you never get more out of life, especially more happiness, by looking at the negative aspects of your life? Begin to focus on the glass being half full. You can start building on a glass half full.

Try thinking positively as a way of finding happiness and satisfaction in your life. Complaining does nothing except keep you feeling bad, and if that’s your intention, you need to re-think your relationship with yourself. Go ahead. Start taking inventory of what you have to be grateful for, and then perhaps you can make some plans to build on that. Nothing could make you happier that a positive attitude leading to success!
