1.  Make a dream board / Vision board add all the things you want in your life and put in a place you will see it every day.

2.  Sign up for a support group/master mind group with like-minded people who share your passion.

3.  Start your day with a great motivational book.  Read one or two pages every morning or until feel motivated and ready to rock it.

4.  Have someone in your life that will help keep you accountable, this could be a mentor a life coach or a business colleague.

5.  Find a motivational blog or forum where you can read that day's motivational post.

6.   Start your own daily motivation blog and ask for comments from others about what motivates them.

7.   Use an application that will help motivate you and keep you accountable. I discovered the perfect motivation app. It is fabulous, it is like having your very own mini life coach giving you motivation and tracking your progress.  Check it out now and get going with MeTracker.

8.  Mind Mapping is another way you can motivate yourself while keeping you focused and on the right course.

9.  Follow motivational people on Twitter, facebook, LinkedIn & Google + that encourage you to go for your dreams and share with you how they are making their dreams and goals a reality.

10. Find someone that shares your passions and has a motivating personality.  That energy will rub off on you, it is contagious and you want to catch their motivation.

11. Eat meals that give you stamina and leave the heavy draining foods for your day off.

12.  Use guided visualization mp3's to start your day or pop one in anytime you feel your motivation dropping.

13.  Music is a super motivator.  Find a song that gets your blood pumping and feet moving and dance like no one is watching.

14.  Affirmations are another good motivator and reminder of what you want to create.  I put little pieces of paper with my affirmations written out in places I know that I will see them all day.  I have them on my computer in the bathroom put them anywhere you spend a lot of time.

15.  it's a good idea to have one of your mentors autobiographies on hand. I like to start out reading a couple of pages of a book that gets my creative juices flowing and reading how successful people I admire have done it is an excellent way to get motivated.  It gives me ideas and inspires me by showing me directly how they created some incredible things in their life.   By Dawn Abraham Award Winning Marketing Expert & CEO Motivational Whisperers LLC.

Six Proven Methods to Get You Back on Track From Feeling Over Whelmed and Zapped

By Eileen Lichtenstein - Peak-Performance-Success Coach

Do you feel overwhelmed?

That's another way of saying the "s" word that someone brought to my attention yesterday makes people feel even worse when they see it in print...

OK- overwhelmed it is! When we feel overwhelmed, we feel "out of control" and often have physical symptoms that are unpleasant or hidden and dangerous.  So..how can we overcome overwhelm, accelerate resilience and be fearless?  Here are a few suggestions:

1.  Change your mindset-reframe, that is think of possibilities from different perspectives that may be less "worrisome".

                                                   positive-...

2.  Set aside self-blame and turn it into gratitude for what you have and have accomplished.

3.  Surround yourself with positive people.  That is not always possible, so learn how to "shield" yourself from emotionally or verbally abusive people and acknowledge what they are doing-saying is from their perspective and is not necessarily the truth or "right".

4.  Take a few minutes each day to reflect on your feelings.

                                            3b96a5cc.jpg image by gregf07

5.  Set specific goals that are realistic and attainable.

    Create S.M.A.R.T. Goals

Specific

Measurable

Attainable

Realistic

Timely

6. Practice relaxation techniques on a regular basis.

Are You Loving Your New Attitude?

By Ali Rodriguez Business Coach

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, is that one size does not fit all, and I don’t mean clothes-wise, I mean, people-wise.  We get into new relationships with certain expectations, only to be disappointed (some times.) - hy?  Because ONE size doesn’t fit all.  Not one person fulfills all your needs, not one child, will be the “be all” for you, and at times, not all parents will be there when you need them.

Life happens. And yet, as individuals, we have powers beyond our own comprehension, which is why sometimes we don’t use them, simply because….we don’t even know, nor see that those powers are there for us to use as we see fit, only if we could see them and have the know-how to use them.

 New Attitude.jpg

That’s why it is so important to have a new attitude in life and use it….!  And while at it…..LOVE it!  This is one of the most fundamental ways of moving ahead towards achievement and success.

Is it easy?  Hell, no.  Is it attainable?  You bet it is.  It is all about what you want, when you want it, and how you want to accomplish it.  And most importantly, WHY you want to attain it.  Without the WHY, not much will happen, which brings me back to:  One size DOES NOT fit all!

CONSIDER:

• Are you different?
• If so, how?
• Is it bravery or is it convenience?
• Can you be loud enough about what you want?
• Are you open to changes?

OPTIONS:

• You can choose to stay the same.  (Really???!!!)
• You can choose the middle of the road.
• You can decide to add life to your years.
• You can decide to add years to your life!
• You can decide that one size does NOT fit all!

POINTS TO PONDER:

• A life well-lived, is the icing on the cake.
• An attitude adjustment is a welcome relief.
• When no one is looking, you share your broadest smile.
• An alternative size fits you like a glove.
• Happiness is….whatever you want to make it.

ACTION PLAN:

• Do something outrageous.
• Document it.
• Have it clear this is for now, and not just for posterity.
• Consider what one thing you would do now that you would NEVER leave for later?  Then, DO IT!
• Enjoy every second of it, and know in your heart, that one size does not fit all.  This is your time to enjoy your new attitude adjustment.

With Much Love,

Ali

Thanks, everybody, for asking about the screening of my dad's film.

By James Rutnam - Motivational Whisperers VP, Website Designer
Thanks everybody. The screening last Saturday went great. It was at The Pacific Design Center in LA. An awesome screening room. Here's a little news about the movie and an event he attended while in town a few weeks ago.

Chandran Rutnam and Steven Spielberg: The Road From Elephant Pass... to Beverly Hills

Chandran Rutnam, the Producer/Director of the film, "The Road From Elephant Pass", attended the Gala Dinner held on Wednesday, December 9th, 2009 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, honoring the renowned director, Steven Spielberg, with America's Democratic Legacy Award, presented by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

Chandran was one of many invited guests at this exclusive star-studded event. Former recipients of this award include Henry Kissinger, U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan, John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson.

Over dinner, Richard Dreyfuss, Drew Barrymore, Noa Dori, Kirk Douglas and Sid Sheinberg - former Chairman of Universal Studios, took turns at the podium to praise Spielberg for his work as a filmmaker and humanitarian.

"You have guided all of us in showing what kind of people we should be in the world through your filmmaking." said Drew Barrymore, who starred in Spielberg's "E.T."

In his remarks, Spielberg reminded people to pay attention, which he said could be a difficult task, "in this new and wildly expanding digital universe," where multi-tasking is the rule. "We e-mail, we hyperlink, we blog, and yet, xenophobia exists; bigotry endures, racism endures, anti-semitism endures," he said. "They endure in societies and cultures all around the world, and they have found a new frightening home in cyber-space."

Spielberg called bigotry an acquired condition that can be eradicated only through education, experience and, mindfulness, and accepted ADL's highest honor, "in mutual recognition of our ambitions to dedicate ourselves to the defense of human dignity, human rights and human life - all human life."

Chandran's friendship with Steven Spielberg
goes back twenty-five years when
"Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom"
was filmed in Sri Lanka.
Invited to sing the National Anthem of the United States was America's hottest star of American Idol fame, Adam Lambert.

Need some inspiration to get you through a rough spot?

By Lorna Blake - Assertiveness Training Coach
Ever wonder what it's like to go through a life threatening condition and come out the other side?
Can you imagine your life changed forever in the blink of an eye?

Brain injury occurs suddenly and without warning.  The effect can lead to permanent disability or death.

If you survive you may have to deal with physical, cognitive and behavioural challenges. Some of these can include memory loss, impaired reasoning skills, and a tendency toward “one track thinking.”

Can you imagine not remembering names and faces of lifelong friends or turning on a burner with a pot and not remembering that you did? Many people with brain injuries also experience paralysis of the limbs or loss of vision and hearing. Some experience speech problems. Others may be able to speak, but due to cognitive issues, they have difficulty organizing their thoughts into meaningful speech. Some people lose their sense of smell, suffer from headaches or have to cope with seizures.

The social consequences of a brain injury can also be devastating! Many people report losing friends and have difficulty starting and maintaining new friendships. These challenges may stem from the injured person’s communication problems. Can you imagine the frustration of not remembering ideas and not being able to communicate clearly and logically during a conversation?

Meet an amazing woman who has experienced brain injury and has lived to tell about it! She not only survived but today she is a very successful author, radio show host, magazine publisher and entertainer!
Listen as she discusses how to survive and thrive after brain injury!

R&R for Optimal Efficiency!

By Eileen Lichtenstein - Peak-Performance-Success Coach

We can feel more  purposeful, focused and positive about our work by regularly giving ourselves the gift of recreation and relaxation. We may think that we need to stay focused and disciplined until we get the job done, especially if we are working hard on achieving the goals we’ve set for ourselves. While this level of dedication is admirable, it can also sabotage our enjoyment of our work and also the efficiency and accuracy. Choosing to create a state of balance and moderation in our activities will help us enjoy our daily experiences more. This helps us be more focused and productive when we are working. Remember that a rested mind is an efficient mind. Take time to honor your need for fun today, and you will help yourself achieve your goals. A good night’s sleep is also extremely important to attain optimal productivity.

I recently won a great raffle at Yvonne Bisk’s Meet-Up Group in Long Island, NY:  http://www.meetup.com/LongIslandEntrepreneurs/ , the book  “Delivering Happiness” by Tony Hsieh, CEO, Zappos.com. Inc. that happily reading now! Tony is a huge advocate of work-life balance and taking time off to allow the creative juices to work.  Thanks Yvonne, for spreading the good words!

De-cluttering your way to your abundance and prosperity

By Suzanne Rose Lubkowski - Certified Intuitive Life Coach

Flowers

Are you ready for abundance and prosperity in your life?  What if you could open the space to create more good in your life by de-cluttering?   Would you be willing to make the necessary changes?  Ready, set, go!

I have worked with people from all around the world who also have clutter challenges.   This seems to be part of the human experience; for many or most.   We went through the 80s and 90s where more and bigger was better. It was a better economy and credit was easy to get.  People were moving up into bigger homes and bigger homes mean more things.  Very few people saw what was ahead in the upcoming years.

What creates clutter in our lives?  Very often, we fill our lives with stuff to fill in unfilled needs in our lives.  We also can use things to provide a protection around us from hurt and pain.  The first step is the awareness, and then taking responsibility to move through this challenge and desiring this change.  If we truly desire abundance and prosperity in our lives, we have to make this commitment to change and transformation.

Most of us just have too much 'stuff' and do not have the organizational know-how to keep things in order.  We may be too busy or have never learned the skills to have a place for everything.   Many times, however, a challenging life situation such as a long-term illness or crisis in the home creates a cluttered and chaotic environment.   Many professional organizers see this time and time again.  There is also many hoarders in the world which is the most challenging situation for professional organizers.  If you have watched the TV show, "Hoarders", you know that this situation goes beyond clutter and disorganization.   Both professional organizers and counseling support is needed for hoarding situation.

How did I get so much stuff?   That is a question I, like many, ask ourselves on a regular basis.  My own personal challenge brought a time of major clutter and disorganization in my life and home; specifically during my time of caregiving for my late husband.   I am still in the process of getting rid of things and reorganizing my life and physical stuff.  It takes a lot of time and energy to do this and this is where a big part of the commitment comes in.  Any spiritual work is like peeling the layers of an onion.   We continue to go deeper and deeper.  As we release physical things from our life, we receive greater openness for abundance and prosperity to move into these spaces.

Spiritually we are being called to clean out within and without, and to lighten up and let go.  We are being asked to focus on the priorities in our life and simplify in every area of our lives.  We are being called to know a deeper understanding of who we truly are and in this knowingness, letting go of anything not serving our higher purpose is required.

Here are some tips for taking control of our lives through de-cluttering and creating the space for more abundance and prosperity.

Step 1.   Take an honest look at what’s going on in your life.  Our outer world is a reflection of what is going on within us.  Like a mirror, it reflects back to us what is going on in our inner world.  If our outer world is messy, clutter, disorganized, we want to look at our spiritual world. How much joy, peace, abundance and prosperity are we allowing into our life?

Where is there clutter in your home, office, thoughts, lifestyle and even relationships?  Each and every one of us have some clutter and disorganization and our own comfort level with it.  Some people have a very small threshold for clutter and a cluttered desk is challenging to them.  Most of us are probably in the middle between that level and hoarders.  If you truly see yourself as a hoarder, when you are ready, find a professional organizer and if needed a counselor to help you to make the changes.

Step 2:  Decide on your why.  What would you like to receive in your life?   Abundance and prosperity come in many ways.  Is it peace of mind and simplicity?   Are you looking for relationship blessings?  What about more time to focus on the important things in life?  Would you like the space to do more things you truly enjoy without having to clean knickknacks?   Meditate and contemplate on what new doors of opportunity would you like to experience.  The why will keep you moving forward and get you to letting go with more ease and to meet your goals.

Step 3:  When you are ready to make changes, take one step at a time.  Professional organizers recommend taking one room at a time; usually one drawer or closet at a time.  As you see the progress, reward yourself; but not with bringing in more stuff.

Step 4.  As you work through releasing your stuff, create bags and boxes sorted for charity, for trash, for freecycle and if needed, a not sure pile.  Get rid of the boxes and bags immediately.  When it is gone, we rarely if ever miss it.  See your goods going to someone who will use and enjoy your items.

Step 5:  Ready to begin.  See this as a part of your spiritual evolution, because it is.  You are becoming more within.  As we let go of more on the outer realms, our Light grows brighter and we open the space for more joy, peace, tranquility and abundance and prosperity in every area of our life.

Namaste!   I salute this Light within you.

There are more courses and books on the subject than we can keep track of.  After writing a book and several courses myself, reading books on "the work" and participating in brilliant  trainings, I will now share with you the ten optimal tips for optimal productivity, creativity and confidence.

1.  Listen to and follow your intuition.

2.  Stay within your integrity- no matter what.

3.  Love and laugh!

4.  Forgive yourself  for mistakes, let go and move on.

5.  Take time each day  to relax, to dream.

6.  Be a great listener.

7.  Stay healthy by practicing extreme self-care. (diet, sleep, exercise, relaxation techniques).

8.  Stop procrastinating and take action- to move forward or to drop the project.

9.  Begin each day with positive visualizations of successful outcomes of your goals.

10.  Believe in yourself and your goals; create affirmations and post them onto mirrors, in an accessible notebook and in the car.

Ask yourself this question: There are people waiting to help you why aren't you meeting them.

The right relationship can be worth millions of dollars to you.

Grace and Charm Insight: “Networking is a lifestyle, not an event.” Walethia Aquil

In today’s business world, now more than ever it is important to build relationships.

Relationship currency can catapult your business to the next level seamlessly; the right connections can earn you millions of dollars.  If you don’t network your business will dry up.

Reasons people don’t network:
  • Unsure of the business and social protocols and formulas to making introductions.
  • Uncomfortable initiating conversions and engaging in small talk at social functions with people they don’t know.
  • Don’t feel at ease work a room, don’t know how to mingle and interact with strangers.
1. First change your mindset about networking.  Networking is not about how many cards you can hand out or how many you collect.  As a matter of fact the fewer cards you hand out the more you will seem to others as someone who has power and influence, someone they will want to connect with.

2. Change the way you think about your contacts.  Seek to add value to your contacts. Seek to give not to receive.  Successful networkers spend more time connecting others and being resourceful than they do looking for clients.

3. Choose the right event.  Join organization that your ideal client belongs to.  If you are an account, only attending events your peers attend won’t expand your network very much.
